Client: trac
Project: Stromeferry Bypass
Details: Stromeferry

A rockfall in 2011 resulted in the closure of the Stromeferry Bypass for several months, with motorists facing a 130-mile diversion. In 2018 a report for the rock face was undertaken and identified as high risk.

A set of complex engineering works on the rail infrastructure was required to facilitate these works. Something had to be done...in came Premier Rail! Network Rail comprised a scheme with the installation of a roadway that could be shared by both trains and vehicles while remedial works to the rock face were undertaken. Premier Rail secured the lead role, installing of over 200 metres of the Rosehill Base plated Crossing System on the rail infrastructure.
